What is the difference between using Bleached Board (SBS) and Coated Recycled Board for packaging?
Customers typically prefer a Bleached Board for high-end packaging, since it provides a smoother surface for high-end graphics. Coated Recycled Boards also provide a white surface for graphics and are typically preferred by customers for cost and environmental reasons.
What is the post-consumer-waste content of your recycled boards?
All of our coated and uncoated recycled boards meet the guidelines for an average of 35% post-consumer waste.
Are your boards FDA-compliant?
All of our coated and uncoated recycled boards and bleached boards are FDA-complaint for either direct or indirect food contact. For information specific to the grade and product of interest, download the appropriate product spec sheet from the Paperboard Products section of this site or contact your Rock-Tenn Paperboard sales representative.
I am looking for coated unbleached kraft (CUK), but Rock-Tenn Paperboard does not produce this grade. What is your alternative?
You are correct, Rock-Tenn Paperboard does not produce CUK. However, we do produce Millennium High Strength CRB, which delivers the same stiffness ratios as CUK at a lower cost.
What is Rock-Tenn’s position on environmental sustainability?
We are committed to environmental sustainability and continue to build our processes to support it. To find out more, download our environmental sustainability brochure.
